When a child reaches the age of 7, they reach the "age of reason." If they are being brought to the church for baptism, we treat them as adults, able to enter fully into the life of the community. Our "adult" program has two tracks; one for older children and one for those over 18. Both tracks are referred to as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). Both are coordinated by Mary Lou Colasurdo. If you are interest in converting to Catholicism, we are very interested in helping you discern this decision.
The RCIA tracks also serve for our Christian brothers and sisters who were initiated into another faith tradition, but for whom God is calling them to the Catholic faith.
RCIA is a several month long program that explores the Catholic faith, our beliefs, our rituals, and our tradition. Each person is given a sponor who acts as a guide and interpreter during the process.
The RCIA process culminates at the Easter Vigil Celebration each spring, where interested people fully join our Faith.
